The California Highway Patrol said in a tweet on Saturday that they made 346 DUI arrests statewide during the first six hours of Memorial Day weekend.
The California Highway Patrol will be conducting a maximum enforcement period through Monday evening at 11:59 p.m. for Memorial Day. CHP wants to remind drivers to drive safely and designate a sober driver.
They also added that at least eight people have died in car crashes within the first six hours of Memorial Day maximum enforcement period. They say of those eight people, at least half were not wearing a seat-belt.
